The Friends of Henderson Park, in keeping with the CDC’s best practices, is going to reschedule the Trail Building Workshop currently scheduled for March 28, 2020. We are working with the facilitator to obtain an alternate date, which most likely occur this fall. Until then, please enjoy our Parks as you are able and as conditions permit as exercise is still recommended for maximum health by both the CDC and WHO.
Join us Saturday, March 28 from 9 am - 1 pm, to learn how to build sustainable trails.
City of Tucker Parks and Recreation and Friends of Tucker Parks have joined up with trails advocate MTB Atlanta to teach participants all about trails for local parks. Part lecture, part workday, the Sustainable Trails Workshop will teach attendees about natural surface trail care, covering the best practices for building, maintaining, and improving recreational trails for non-motorized use.
The goal is better sustainability that can reduce overall maintenance needs and user impacts on our natural resources. All skill levels are welcome. The lecture portion of the workshop will take place at the Tucker Recreation Center, and the workday will be at the Tucker Nature Preserve to build a new trail to the planned bee hive installation.
Registration is $20. Follow the link below to register, select Friends of Henderson Park, and add Trailblazing Workshop under special instructions. Questions? Email Vicki Warren with FOHP at vickiwarren54@gmail.com. See you there!
